"Web-APP" stands for Web Automated Perl Portal, because that is the total idea behind it. You should be able to set this site up, and have to work minimally to keep it up. Web-APP Workstation Plus™ (LE) is a fully featured, modified version of the standard release of the Web-APP Perl program.

What is the Web-APP Intranet Project?

This project is specifically for those who wish to install the Web-APP CMS (Automated Perl Portal) on a local Linux machine or Windows box for use in a networking environement (office, home, etc.).

Once installed, Web-APP Executive Suite™ (or Web-APP Workstation Plus™) will allow all those you permit within your network to use the Perl portal or for you to test the script locally. There are many uses for Web-APP either on intranet or internet. I'm sure you can think of some of some ideas of your own.

A special bundle has been created just for those who wish to use the program for Intranet on either Linux or Windows. No permissions have to be set on files. Everything is pre-configured and works out of the box if you follow the simple directions with the archive. No dangerous "exe's" or intrusive spyware. Released under GNU General Public License.

Windows Users

For Windows users, I have a bundle that includes: The Web-APP script itself (preconfigured), installer, Apache 2.2.8, Perl 5.8.10, PHP 5.2.5, a package manager (allows you to install CPAN source modules and binary packages from repositories, add/remove modules). You don't need the PHP if you are only going to be using the flatfile Perl version of Web-APP, but it's included anyway. The current download of 0.9.9.8 is the Web-APP script itself, without Apache, Perl, etc. A new bundle is being prepared for the release of 0.9.9.9.

If you only wish to have the script and already have Indigo or ActiveState or some other similiar program, you can download the smaller package too.

Linux Users

Bundle for Linux is coming soon. In the meantime you can download the Web-APP script which has been pre-configured for Linux machines (coming after the release of 0.9.9.9). You will need to download Apache and Perl if you don't already have it on your machine though.
